🎶 About Us – Craobh Loch Gile
✨ Carrying the tradition. Inspiring the future ✨
Craobh Loch Gile is a vibrant branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann based in Sligo, dedicated to teaching, promoting, and performing Irish traditional music. Our vision is to carry forward Sligo’s rich musical heritage while inspiring new generations of musicians through quality tuition, expert guidance, and community music-making.
We provide weekly classes in Summerhill College, Sligo, led by our team of outstanding tutors:
Caoimhe Kearins – Fiddle
Aileen Bourke – Concertina
Michael Rooney – Harp
June McCormack – Flute
Sean Carroll – Button Accordion
In addition to weekly lessons, we host monthly sessions led by our tutors, giving students the chance to play together and experience the living tradition in a welcoming community setting.
From January to June, our Grúpaí Ceoil and Céilí Bands are prepared by our musical team of ensuring continuity of tradition and excellence in ensemble playing.

Many of our young members are also part of the Ceol na nÓg Orchestra, a 70-strong ensemble of young musicians from across the North West, offering a unique opportunity for performance, inspiration, and collaboration.
Craobh Loch Gile is not just a place to take lessons — it is a community where children and families connect with tradition, creativity, and the joy of music for life.
